Welcome to the website of Street Angels - Christian Nightlife Initiatives Network. The network is here to demonstrate the commitment of fantastic volunteers up and down the country through the work of churches and community groups in the night time economy.

Our role is to act as an umbrella group to enable, equip and inspire people and organisations to create a better culture at night than the traditional binge image that is often seen in many of town and cities in the UK.

CNI work across five main strands...

Local Expressions:

Supporting, resourcing and promoting local projects in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and Internationally in Australia such as Street Angels, Town Pastors, NightLight, Street Chaplains, etc. CNI helps towns and cities wishing to start such a project through low cost 'network' franchising (we offer the resources and help in return for donations towards our work).

Network:

This strand helps local projects link with the big picture and promotes the work of local projects to key agencies nationally. A National Leadership Group (pictured) is in place to help facilitate this. CNI has links with several other agencies who all work within or support the issues around the nighttime economy, for example those working with: drug and alcohol support, homeless, young people, red light areas, cafe and restaurant culture, etc. See this page for more information on CNI Network.

National Influence:

CNI is now seen as a recognised voice for faith and community based night-time initiatives amongst many in Parliament, National Policing, Church Networks and a wide range of agencies. We look at wider Christian engagement issues, promote and celebrate what volunteers are achieving at a local level, produce a monthly newsletter and have regular web updates. CNI works with key national initiatives such as More Than Gold, Redeeming Our Communities and HOPE. CNI has run several high standard and flagship conference events such as Big Response, Debating Democracy and a recent reception in Parliament.

Making The Difference:

Helping equip people and groups to Make The Difference within localities through various resources including Founder of Street Angels and CNI, Paul Blakey MBE (pictured with Her Majesty the Queen) and the Director of Development, Adam May. Making The Difference has produced a 9 part TV series highlighting the work of local project and partner organisations. Making The Difference strand is also working on educational and practical resources such as Social Networking, Marketing and web sites. See the web site for more information.

Love Your Streets:

Community responsibility and action - doing things that make a difference in the lives of others. Love Your Streets is something we can all do from simple everyday ideas to the ones that take a little more organising - Love Your Streets is about good old fashioned community spirit! MakingTheDifference.tv is a series of TV shows highlighting amazing people who are committed to making the difference in the lives of people, local communities, towns and cities across our nation.

Presented by Paul Blakey MBE, Founder of Street Angels - CNI Network, the shows will feature interviews with people who put Christian faith into action and demonstrate that the reality of "God's Kingdom come, God's will be done, on earth as in heaven" is changed lives, reduced crime, safer streets, addictions gone and communities made better places!
